“See You at LEA” is something I often say, especially as we head toward October. I know what LEA is, and many of my friends do as well, but others in Lutheran education may not. So here is a quick primer on this important phrase.
First, LEA stands for the Lutheran Education Association, a longstanding professional organization for educators in Lutheran ministries. While LEA provides many learning opportunities and resources for ministry professionals, the focus right now is on the triannual LEA Convocation to be held from October 2nd to 4th in St. Louis, MO. So when someone like me says “See You at LEA”, they are hoping to connect in person. What a blessing it will be to have so many education ministry partners in one place celebrating God’s gifts together, learning, and meeting old nad new friends and colleagues in person.
If you or your staff have not registered yet, I highly encourage you to do so. Click here for basic Convocation information, including registration links. In addition, to assist LEA participants, we have created an experimental chatbot to help attendees find appropriate sectional information. Click here for a link to additional information on this chatbot and the opportunity to visit this chatbot directly. This is the first time we have coded a chatbot for this purpose, so if you find great value in this or find it problematic, LEA would love to hear from you.
I will be at the LEA Convocation. I can’t wait to “See You at LEA.”
