  • Gemini — Google’s current AI tool. NOTE — those who use Google in their school environment will need to have this service enabled by the technology administrator. May also be used with a Google personal account.
  • Copilot — Microsoft’s current version of AI. Free to try but many more features available with a Microsoft login. One benefit is that it provides links to the sites where it gathers its information.
  • ChatGPT3 — The free version of the first available textual AI tool to the general public. A paid subscription is available to ChatGPT4.

  • Perplexity — Billed as a research assistant, this service utilizes the ChatGPT3 service that seeks to incorporate search capabilities with natural chat.
  • Scribe — Step-by-step instructions automator
  • SlidesAI Browser Plugin — Use AI to create your slide presentation.
  • Sudowrite — A text editor and enhancer designed to help specifically with writers block.
  • ChampionAI — AI that assists students on their academic journey.

Simple Suggestions for Testing AI:

  • Use AI to research something you already know well and analyze the results.
  • Ask AI to create lessons or units that integrate faith perspectives based on the doctrinal beliefs of the LCMS.
  • Practice using prompt engineering (initial and follow up prompts) to hone very specific AI queries.
  • Copy a class study guide into AI and ask for review questions for students in whatever format you choose.
