I want to share with you about a session I will facilitate at both the Lutheran Education Association (LEA) Convocation in St. Louis (October 2-4) and the Rocky Mountain District Professional Church Workers Conference, in Breckenridge, CO (October 8-10). As you can see from the generated image, the stated goal of the session is to help all of us examine the ethical, theological, educational, and practical issues surrounding the use of artificial intelligence (AI).
The premise behind this session is that I want us to take advantage of participants being physically in the same space, with the opportunity to learn from each other. I will lead an interactive session where we take advantage of being together and learn from each other. I have created four questions for each topic. Participants will be encouraged to crowdsource choosing one topic to examine, talk about, learn from each other, and plan for the future. I could stand up and “talk to” an audience, sharing everything I have learned in my three-year examination of AI, but I want us to leverage the presence of participants so we can benefit from the wisdom of others.
I hope you will join me at either LEA or the RMD conference. The LEA sectional will be held on Friday, October 3rd at 10:30 AM, and the RMD session is scheduled for 1:30 PM on Thursday, October 9th. I would love to see you at either one of these events and connect with you then.
